A great game between Swix, Northern, and Nigel. Although the final numbers may not show it, the match was very entertaining to watch, especially the casted version.
For beginners, Northern and Nigel both played very well. Nigel built a strong macemen army and used it effectively to rush in and destroy a large number of shields. Northern also had a solid group of crossbowmen and archers positioned on his tower, which helped defend against Swix’s attacks.
Swix had a great economic setup that allowed him to consistently produce weapons and maintain pressure throughout the match. There were moments when Northern and Nigel worked together and looked capable of bringing him down. In the end, though, Swix’s constant pressure and siege attacks gradually forced them back, giving him control of the middle King of the Hill keep long enough to secure the win.
Milan controlled this match from start to finish. Trooper and Northern didn’t have much to show overall, and neither of them was able to put serious pressure on him. Milan, being a very experienced Crusader player, clearly had his strategy prepared. He took the middle King of the Hill keep early and held it comfortably for most of the game. Northern did attempt a small push with shields and archers, and Trooper also made a small attempt, but neither attack was nearly enough to break Milan’s hold. With very little successful retaliation from the others, Milan maintained control and closed the game out fairly quickly.
GG. WP.
This KoTH FFA tournament match came down to strong fortification and persistence. Stanas built a solid position with two towers close enough to the middle keep to shoot down Turbo and Northern’s troops whenever they tried to retake control.
Turbo and Northern both had a few good moments and chances to push back, but Stanas held firm. In the end, the amount of shields combined with crossbowmen and archers backing them from the towers was too much to break.
Strong hold by Stanas. GG WP.
Bradly attacked Stanas early and did some damage to his eco, but Stanas recovered quickly. He then pushed for Bradly’s side hill and eventually went straight for his Lord.
Northern managed to hold Stanas off for a while with shielded archers, swords, and other defenses, but Stanas kept the pressure on. Eventually, Northern went down as well. GG.
Stanas eliminated Bradly fairly early after taking control of his hill and rushing the keep. Northern tried to hold with a mangonel and ballistas, but Stanas brought in trebuchets, knocked down the towers, and pushed straight for the Lord. GG.
