Beginner-focused Stronghold HD King of the Hill tournament hosted by GamingX.
This tournament is designed mainly for newer and lower-level players. Medium-skill players may be allowed at admin discretion, but they may be required to play with restrictions such as no Engineers Guild.
The format will use the Swiss KoTH System:
- Players play qualifier matches first
- Players are ranked by qualifier points
- Players are then placed into Winners, Losers, or Last-Chance playoff brackets
- The Winners Bracket champion advances directly to the Grand Final
- The Losers Bracket and Last-Chance Bracket champions play a Semi-Final
- The Semi-Final winner plays the Winners Bracket champion in the Grand Final
Target start date and schedule may be adjusted depending on signups and player availability.
Tournament Rules
Eligibility
This is a beginner-focused tournament.
Medium-skill players may be allowed at admin discretion, but may receive restrictions such as:
- No Engineers Guild
- Other balancing restrictions if needed
Admins may approve, deny, or adjust player eligibility to keep the tournament fair for beginners.
Format
This tournament uses the Swiss KoTH System.
Qualifier matches and playoff bracket matches are generally played as 1v1v1 King of the Hill.
Semi-Final and Grand Final matches are generally played as 1v1 King of the Hill.
Scoring
Qualifier matches use placement scoring:
- 1st place: 3 points
- 2nd place: 1 point
- 3rd place: 0 points
Placement is based on the King of the Hill rundown timer/results.
Scheduling
Players are expected to complete their assigned matches on time.
If a player cannot play, they should contact an admin as soon as possible.
No-Shows / Dropouts
No-shows, late players, disconnects, and dropouts will be handled by admins.
Admins may reschedule, issue a forfeit, adjust the match, replace a player, or advance another player depending on the situation.
Match Settings
Specific maps, rulesets, and game settings will be assigned through the tournament match settings/admin panel.
Players must use the official assigned map, ruleset, and settings for each match.
Admin Decisions
Admins may adjust brackets, matchups, restrictions, or results if needed to keep the tournament fair and moving.
Admin decisions are final.
